Why 60mg of Elemental Iron?
Elemental iron is the total amount of iron in the supplement available for absorption by your body.
60mg of elemental iron is recommended for Filipinos with iron deficiency and other anemias, together with at least 400mcg of Folic Acid. (Per DOH AO#2010-0010)
If you are experiencing symptoms of "low-blood" or Iron Deficiency Anemia, and the elemental iron in your supplement is below the recommended dose, it may not be enough to treat your symptoms.
