Formulation
Each Co-Amoxiclav (AmoClav®) 500 mg/100 mg IV vial contains:
Amoxicillin (as Sodium) 500 mg
Clavulanic Acid (as Potassium Clavulanate) 100 mg

 

Each Co-Amoxiclav (AmoClav®) 1000 mg/200 mg IV vial contains:
Amoxicillin (as Sodium) 1000 mg
Clavulanic Acid (as Potassium Clavulanate) 200 mg

Prescription Drug

Indications

For the short-term treatment of the following infections caused by susceptible microorganisms:

  • Upper respiratory tract infections (including ENT infections): Tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis media
  • Lower respiratory tract infections: Acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, lobar and bronchopneumonia
  • Genito-urinary tract infections: Cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, female genital infections
  • Skin and skin structure infections: Abscesses, cellulitis, boils, wound infections
  • Bone and joint infections: Osteomyelitis
  • Other infections: Septic abortion, puerperal sepsis, intra-abdominal sepsis, septicemia, peritonitis, post-surgical infections

As prophylaxis against infections caused by susceptible microorganisms which may be associated with major surgical procedures such as gastro-intestinal, pelvic, head and neck, cardiac, renal, joint replacement, and biliary tract surgery.
