Solmux® Forte Suspension

This medicine is a mucolytic agent used to relive cough characterized by excessive sticky sputum or phlegm to help treat respiratory tract disorders such as acute bronchitis. Carbocisteine also reduces the number of exacerbations associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and inhibits the adherence of bacteria and virus to human respiratory cells. Carbocisteine is also used in the treatment of otitis media with effusion (glue ear).

Cabocisteine, in an in vitro study (outside the living organism), was shown to have significantly reduced the ability of bacteria to adhere to human pharyngeal cells.

Orally, 5 mL (1 teaspoonful), every 8 hours.
