Unilab Diatabs 4s Loperamide Capsules 2 mg - Faster and Complete Relief from Diarrhea

WHAT IS THIS MEDICINE USED FOR?

This medicine is used for the following conditions:

Control and symptomatic relief of:

• acute nonspecific diarrhea
• chronic diarrhea associated with inflammatory bowel disease

Reduction of number and volume of output in patients with ileostomies and colostomies

HOW MUCH AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU USE THIS MEDICINE?

For Control and Symptomatic Relief of Acute Nonspecific Diarrhea

Adults and Children 12 years and older:

Take 2 capsules initially followed by 1 capsule after each loose bowel movement, or, as recommended by a doctor.
Maximum dose is 8 mg (4 capsules) per day. Discontinue use if there is no improvement after 2 days.

For Control and Symptomatic Relief of Chronic Diarrhea associated with Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Adults and Children 12 years and older: Take 2 capsules initially followed by 1 capsule after each loose bowel movement.

Loperamide dose may be adjusted to meet individual requirements. When the optimal daily dosage has been established, administer this amount as a single dose or in divided doses. Or, as recommended by a doctor.

Average Daily Maintenance Dose in Adults: Take 2 to 4 capsules/day
If no clinical improvement is observed after treatment with 4 capsules/day (8 mg/day) for at least 10 days, symptoms are unlikely to be controlled by further loperamide administration.
In addition to taking loperamide for diarrhea, you should replace lost fluid and electrolytes by drinking oral rehydration salts (ORS) and/or plenty of clear fluids.
Do not take more than the recommended dose.
