HOW MUCH AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU USE THIS MEDICINE?

The medicine should be taken orally (by mouth). 

Age Group

Cetirizine (Allerkid) Dose

2.5 mg per mL Syrup

(Oral Drops)

5 mg per 5 mL Syrup

Infants 6 mos to less than

12 mos

2.5 mg (1 mL) OD

-

Children:

       12 mos to less than 2 yrs

2.5 mg (1 mL) OD or

BID (every 12 hrs)

        2 to 5 yrs

5 mg (2 mL) OD or 

2.5 mg (1 mL)

BID (every 12 hrs)

5 mL (1 tsp) OD or

2.5 mL (1/2 tsp)

BID (every 12 hrs)

        6 to 12 yrs

10 mL (2 tsp) OD or 

5 mL (1 tsp)

BID (every 12 hrs)
