What is Low Erection Quality (LEQ)?
Low erection quality (LEQ), commonly known as Erectile Dysfunction (ED), is the term used to describe problems getting and/or maintaining an erection that is sufficient for sexual performance. A tendency for brief erections, inconsistency in erections, or the absence of erections--all of these can be classified as LEQ.

This type of condition is exclusively for the male population.

What are the symptoms, manifestations and variations of LEQ?
· It takes longer to get an erection.
· Erection is not as hard as it used to be.
· Loss of erection following orgasm is more rapid.
· Ability to maintain an erection for satisfactory sex is declining.

Who are at risk, or who are prone to LEQ?
· Those with chronic illnesses (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, high blood pressure, hormone deficiency)
· Those who are obese, and with improper diet
· Those who smoke and take excessive alcohol
· Those who are stressed and suffer depression
· Those taking the following medications:
- Psychiatric medications (Anti-depressants)
- Antihistamines
- Cardiovascular drugs (Beta-blockers i.e. Metoprolol)
- H2 Blockers (e.g. Cimetidine)

How can erection quality be improved?
Improvement in erections can be achieved by taking medications like Andros. It is an oral tablet containing the active ingredient, Sildenafil. Andros allows more blood to flow into the penis. The increased blood flow causes the penis to become hard and erect.

(Ask your physician about Unilab's sildenafil for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.)
