It is in the spirit of Bayanihan that Mr. J.Y. Campos established the Employees Council (EC) in December 1959. The Council was founded on the belief that no one could best determine the needs of the employees than they themselves, with the full support and encouragement from management, with the belief that increased productivity could be achieved if the employees had a stake in their own welfare and benefit.

While our people work hard to drive the business, we take some time out to celebrate together as one “big family.” Sharing in the fruit of common efforts is highlighted during these traditionally held corporate affairs held each year.

Ceremonial Handshake

At the start of each year, all senior company officers visit the Unilab offices and its subsidiaries. They offer a firm handshake, a bright smile and a sincere New Year greeting to appreciate a job well-done and to encourage the employees to work their best for the coming year.

"Bayanihan" Day Celebration

UNILAB spends one workday in May each year to celebrate the “Bayanihan” spirit that exemplifies our value of cooperation and solidarity towards the attainment of a common goal. All employees participate in this festive, fun-filled celebration. Every division gets a chance to be the “event organizer” responsible for coming up with the “theme” and program for the Bayanihan celebration.

The Outstanding Performers (TOPs) Of The Year

Starting 2001, the top ten percent employees of Unilab who ran the extra mile and contributed significantly to the achievement of the corporate goals are recognized. A testimonial dinner attended by awardees, management and stockholders is held. The awardees receive a plaque of recognition and a choice of a gift showcase.

Araw Ng Parangal At Pasasalamat

The Corporate Year-End Affair caps the last working day of the year. A thanksgiving mass is celebrated, business performance is acknowledged and service awardees are recognized. It is a homecoming of sorts as even employees assigned outside Manila , are brought home to participate in the festivities. Entertainment, raffles, prizes and a sumptuous lunch are provided. Messages from the COO-President, the Chairman of the Employees Council and the Chairman of the Board form an integral part of the day's program.
